Bang Sue - The Connection Between Thailand and Asia

In Bangkok, numbers of mass transit projects are under construction.  The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) announced that Bang Sue Central Station will be opened in January 2021 along with the Red Line commuter rail.  Bang Sue Central Station will replace the existing Hua Lamphong Station as the terminus for all long-distance rail services from Bangkok which include Sino Thai Railway.

The Largest Railway Station in Southeast Asia – Bang Sue Central Station

Bang Sue Central Station will replace the existing Bang Sue Junction Railway Station and incorporate the Bang Sue MRT Station. To serve 208000 commuters and travelers as expected, there are 26 platforms with four floors.

  1. Underground floor: The Bang Sue MRT Station on the MRT Blue Line Station.
  2. Ground floor: the station concourse with ticketing and waiting areas and also the only air-conditioned area.
  3. Second floor: train platforms serving long-distance diesel trains and SRT Red Line commuter trains.
  4. Third floor: high-speed railway platform serving regional, high-speed services such as Sino-Thai high-speed rail (HSR) train from Bangkok to Nong Khai and the high-speed rail train from Bangkok to Hua Hin.  High-speed airport rail links such as the Suvarnabhumi Airport Rail Link will also be served.

Sino-Thai Railway

The Sino Thai railway is an 873 km high-speed railway connecting Thailand with multiple Asia countries of China, Laos, Malaysia, and Singapore included in the EEC development plan.  Bang Sue Central Station will be the terminus for Sino Thai Railway. The round-trip ticket prices from Kunming to Bangkok will be about 3600 Baht (about 925 HKD).  It will only be half or one-third of the airplane ticket price.  With the convenience of Asian tourists travel to Thailand and a relatively cheap ticket price, it will boost the development of Thailand tourism.

The surrounding area of Bang Sue has a strong potential business development value of being a new CBD with hotels, ASEAN merchandise stores, and high-end residential areas.  With nearby highways and subways, railways, high-speed rail, and the airport express, it connects with the central area of Bangkok. It is expected that there will be more than 300000 person-time per day and attract the settle in of hundreds of large companies after the completion of the Bang Sue Central Station.

Zone A: high-end hotels and business center

Zone B: ASEAN Retail and Wholesale Services Business District

Zone C: apartment complex

Zone D: transportation centers

With the boost of both the Sino Thai railway and EEC, the economic development of the whole Thai market has been driven and the development of the Thai real estate market has been greatly stimulated. In the area nearby Bang Sue, both the supply and demand increase remarkably, and the sold rate is increasing to about 85% or more.  A larger housing demand brought by the gathering of people and the huge potential of future economic growth will provide investors a new investment opportunity.
